Welcome to the enjoyable world of Papier-Mâché Structures. With just a few basic designs you can make an endless variety of finished structures, using your personal creativity and imagination.

The finished structures may be used as functional bird dwellings or decorative keepsakes. Most of the patterns in this book will be relatively easy to build, but there will also be a few that will take more time and experience. We suggest that you start with the more simple designs and progress towards the more advanced structures as your abilities improve.

There are some basic tools and materials necessary to build these structures. You probably already have most of the tools, and the materials can be purchased at almost any hardware store.

We have tried to make this book as easy to understand as possible with step by step instructions. You may find an easier way to do certain steps in the procedures. Feel free to follow your own methods, as ours are just basic methods that work well in most applications. You should follow the sequence though, as not to complicate the assembly procedure.

We feel that anyone with the desire to build these structures should be able to do so from start to finish. As with all instruction books we probably have not addressed all questions concerning our procedures, but our intention was for an overall basic guide to understanding and building Papier Mache Structures using our methods.
